CleanThisWay publishes step-by-step cleaning and stain removal guides organized by the exact problem you are facing: a specific stain, a specific material, a specific appliance or a specific smell.
Most cleaning advice online is generic. A method that works on cotton can ruin silk, and a cleaner that is fine on laminate can etch marble. Our guides start from the material first, then the stain or problem, so you can avoid damage before you start scrubbing.
How we write our guides
- Material-first instructions. Every guide states which surfaces and fabrics the method is for, and which ones it is not safe for.
- Manufacturer and expert sources. We check care labels, appliance manuals and guidance from organizations such as the American Cleaning Institute, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and university extension services, and we link to them.
- Safety first. We never recommend mixing cleaning chemicals, and we call out ventilation, glove and spot-test steps.
- Kept up to date. Each article shows when it was last reviewed. If a manufacturer changes its guidance, we update the article.
What we do not do
We do not accept payment to recommend a product, and we do not present guesses as facts. When a method depends on a specific product or model, we tell you to check the label or manual.
